Now that wedding season is upon us, we strongly
encourage all engaged couples to sign the RCA prenuptial agreement. Please insist that
your family and friends do so. Friends don't let friends get married without a prenup!
Signing the prenup affirms your commitment to care for and protect your spouse throughout
your marriage. We think it's kind of romantic. It also has the full halakhic support of
prominent rabbis, including Rabbi Hershel Schachter, Rabbi Mordechai Willig, Rabbi Ovadia
Yosef, and Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg.
According to Rabbi Yona Reiss, former director of the Beth Din of America, the RCA
prenuptial agreement has been 100% effective in ensuring that a Get is given in a timely
fashion.

New Class
At shul on Monday evenings, Rabbi Kornblau is teaching a new Torah class. Its goal
is to study the text of the entire Torah from Bereshit (Genesis) to Devarim (Deuteronomy).
We'll cover it all, taking a fresh look at familiar narratives as well as sections that
are often neglected– sacrifices, racy parts, legal sections, wars, and the boring parts,
too. Each week we will discuss a complete section (Creation; Garden of Eden; Descendants
of Adam and Eve; Flood; etc.) Although participants will find the class more meaningful
when they read the material in advance, that is not required. Familiarity with Hebrew is
not required, and all background levels are welcome. We hope to finish the entire Chumash
in about a year and a half.
